Try marketing something on your own and put that experience on your resume. Maybe graphic design minor? Photography? Video? Radio/podcasting? Something more dynamic than just strategy and articles will help you stand out. I'd actually get a degree in a related subject and get the free certifications on your own time to show marketing knowledge (hubspot, Google, etc).
